![]() ![]() ![]() I cant remember the exact channels I got them on, but it was in the high 40's from memory and nowhere near their original channel number (clear enough to understand them ok but not as loud as on channel 11) They talk on channel 11 WFM - but I hear them NFM mode on 3 different channels, channel 11 is the clearest obviously - but I also recieve them on 2 other channels much higher up. I noticed this from council roadworkers outside my house who use WFM handheld CB's - and have read of other reports about the same thing It is a noticeable difference though apparently (about half the volume lost)Īnother interesting thing about WFM radios, if they transmit on certain channels and are very close - a NFM radio will be able to hear him across multiple channels - the WFM signal is wide enough to "bleed" across a few channels in the "NFM band" side of things due the extra channels being inserted between existing old frequencies Keep in mind - different radios will already sound different due microphone sensitivitys, power output etc etc - Try and use the same radio for the test if you can (eg one which is capable of either NFM or WFM to keep things consistant) else results will be harder to see I think. I had a chat once on channel 40 and got a complaint about my lack of volume when mine was on NFM, I flicked mine over to WFM mode without telling the guy - and he said straight away I was easier to hear now ![]()
